1. What time is set up?
Set up begins at 2 pm in the Brown Ballroom of the Bone Student Center at ISU. Parking is available on the north side of the building for .80 cents per hour. A circle drive is located on the west side (front) of the building for drop off and unloading.
2. What time is the event?
Doors will open for the event at 4 pm. Your showcase table should be set up by the time the doors open. The showcase will remain open until the keynote presentation at 5 pm and then re-open around 5:30 pm.
3. What will I have for my showcase display?
Each group will have at least 4 feet of table space for their display and surrounding floor space as well. Additionally, easels will be available to display posters/signs. Each table will have at least one folding chair for seating.
4. What should I prepare for and bring?
The purpose of the showcase is to share information about service projects that you are working on (at any stage: beginning, middle, or end), promote your group’s mission, and/or share service opportunities with others. Many groups may bring signage, photos, posters, and other artifacts to show what they have done.
5. Will I have access to electricity?
Due to limited space and budget, we will not be providing this access. If you have what you feel is a special circumstance, please contact the organizer at youthservicemcleancounty@gmail.com
6. How cna i find out more about GYSD?
Service projects are planned throughout the community on Saturday, April 24-Sunday, April 25 in observance of GYSD. We will distribute a map of these projects at the Showcase, promote them at the event, and post the map on the website at www.youthservicemcleancounty.org. If you have a project on April 24-25th and have not already submitted that, please do so by Friday, April 16 so that it can be included on the map.
7. Will there be food at the event?
Light refreshments will be served at 4pm.
